Heart Foundation ends involvement with aspirin brand

The Heart Foundation is ending its involvement with the licensing of HeartCare 75 daily dose aspirin brand. Brand Brokers, the distributor for HeartCare 75, is no longer able to access locally made supply of 75mg dose aspirin.

Heart Foundation Medical Director Gerry Devlin recommends that people who buy aspirin over the counter should check with their doctor or a specialist about aspirin for the treatment for their heart condition.

“Indications for the prescription of aspirin have changed over the last 12 months as new evidence has emerged. Anyone who has been self-prescribing aspirin should talk to their GP and get advice on what’s right for them,” says Gerry.
