Seafood and eat it

We discuss the benefits of eating fish and ways to incorporate seafood into your Early Learning Service menus.

Fish is a rich source of lean protein and contains many nutrients that are important for the growth and development of young bodies. It can also be difficult to successfully incorporate into children's diets. We give you tips and tricks on how to ensure fish meals are eaten up by our youngest critics!

Some ways we can talk about kai is to describe how it looks, smells and feels using our senses. Your words matter. They can influence how a child acts and feels around food and have an influence on their life-long relationship with food.

Slip, slop, slap, seek and slide into summer

We all want our tamariki and early childhood community to be able to learn and play outdoors, but as educators we need to support children and families to know the risks of the sun’s UV rays.
