Mealtimes matter

Whānau meals provide valuable moments for tamariki to learn important social skills which nurture a sense of belonging.

Mealtimes are also a great place to learn how to use a knife, fork, spoon or chopsticks correctly. Although it can be difficult to entice tamariki away from play for meals, adults can lead by example and create opportunities for practice at the table.
